Homemade Keto Chocolate Hearts

These keto chocolates are not only simple and quick to make – they are truly delicious!

If you’re not making these for yourselves, you’ll soon want to share! Even that non-keto-ers will love these.

These keto chocolates can be ready in 20 minutes, these hearts can be a great last-minute make if you’re wanting to treat somebody who is living a keto/low-carb lifestyle, or you’ve had a bad day at work and you deserve a treat!

I have added whole nuts to these to give them a bit of extra crunch – plus they take me a bit of extra time to eat!

Keto Chocolate

Normal, commercial chocolate has far too much sugar in it, for it to be keto-friendly. That’s why these chocolate hearts require chocolate with a high cacao content (90% or higher).

It is then sweetened through the natural sweeteners of the coconut oil, a dash of vanilla essence and a bit of erythritol (a keto-friendly sugar substitute). This will not spike your blood sugar, and as long as they are not over-eaten, they will not knock you out of ketosis.

Keto Chocolate Snacks

Keto chocolate snacks can be eaten in moderation, and these hearts are that small that they can be eaten as a treat on a special occasion.

If you are making these in advance, I would suggest staring them in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to a month.

If you are really organised – you can store these in the freezer, ready for when you want them. Take them out of the freezer around 2 hours before you want to eat them, to give them time to defrost. Store them in the fridge if you like your chocolate harder.
